[Opinions] Joey and Mikey
What do you think of Joey and Mikey as nicknames for Joseph and Michael, rather than the typical Joe and Mike? Like them better or worse? Do you know many of either? They’ve been on my mind lately, I think they’re nice.

I know someone whose siblings all go by "-y" nicknames, and I think two of them are called Joey and Mikey. But where I live, it's unusual to use those names unless you're very young.

I really like Joey as a nickname! I think it’s adorable. I know a little girl named JosephineJoey”, which is also sweet. Mikey is okay but doesn’t do much for me. I do love Michael, though.

They're cute. I like them.

I prefer Joey to Joe, and Mike to Mikey (but I'd be more likely to just use Michael). Together Joey and Mikey sound like people from the Jersey Shore cast.

LOL it does sound like Jersey Shore.

Very juvenile. Fine until they've turned 6.

I prefer Joey and Mikey I like Joe, but dislike Mike. I'd prefer Mickey over Mike, personally I've known several Michael's who have gone by Mike, one by Mickey, but none by Mikey. I've known a couple of Joseph's, but only one of them prefer the nn Joe, the other does not like nicknames

There are good, and Joe and Mick/Mike would suit as they get older

I’ve always liked the name Michael. I don’t like Mike or Mikey. Not a huge fan of Joseph but Joey doesn’t bother me.

Joey and Mikey are only 1 letter each from Joe & Mike so you're not really breaking the mould. Joseph and Michael, however, are far more respectable

Lol, I know they’re not particularly uncommon I just meant that I see Joe and Mike used far more often than Joey and Mikey. :)

I think Joey is more popular these days as a nickname. I rarely hear "Joe". I have heard more "Mikes" than "Mikeys". I think most Joseph's go by Joey but most Michaels just go by Michael.

Oh, they're awful. They are so babyish, even on a baby they sound like cartoon brats. I never knew any Mikey except from that kid in the Life cereal commercials. Heck, I don't even remember if he was actually on TV when I was a kid but everybody knew that "Mikey likes it" and that he died because "he ran out of Life."
I knew a couple kids named Joey growing up but they grew out of it and became Joe, or in one case JT.
