Help[Opinions] Kira/Kyra/Keira
Which of these do you prefer and why? How would you pronounce it? I have a weakness for slightly trendy-sounding names starting with K and I like the "Keera" pronunciation rather than the "Kayra" one. On a daughter, I'd use Kira or Kyra rather than Keira and tend to see the name as a feminine form of Kyrus/Cyrus rather than the anglicized spelling of Ciara, which would be unusable in my first language which is very phonetic.

I like Kira and would use it.
Kyra prn. "Keera" is difficult IMO, everyone would think it was KAI-ra.
Keira is okay, I think it looks a little older than Kira.
ETA: The thing I don't like about Keira is that I always get it mixed up with Kiera. And the "ei" does look more like "ai" or "ay" than "ee". Kiera looks more like "ee" but it could also be pronounced like Kierra with 3 syllables.

As a Dane, I’d pronounce the three options completely differently, unless I’d say them in English. I’d only use Kira (kee-ra). I think Kyra sounds strange. Keira makes me think of centaurs (Chiron/Keiron) but I honesly kinda like that, though.

Kira looks the cleanest to me, so I prefer that.

I prefer Kira as I like the Russian sound/look of it, but I will admit that Keira does look the most familiar due to the high profile of Ms. Knightley. I automatically pronounce all of them Kee-ra (except Ciara, which I would probably say see-ah-ra unless I knew the bearer was Irish).
I'd rather use Chiara than any of them though. I realize its not in the same family but the sounds are so similar.

English is not my first language and I have a lot of trouble With transcriptions, by “Kay-ra” I meant what you wrote as “kiera” to rhyme with “eye”. Which is always how I thought Keira Knightley’s name was pronounced.
