It seems that the Sharps aren't a family for lasting relationships. Unfortunately this time, there was a death in the family. Chase died suddenly from a heart attack 4 years ago and Sarah was beside herself. She found herself talking a lot to the dad of Elijah who was a widower, and eventually they married. The boys were very excited to be brothers at first but actually found it difficult living together and sharing each other's parent. It has helped a little that they now share a sister. India was completely unplanned in the relationship but is doted on by everyone.
In other news, April, who is unlucky in love, is engaged again at age 48. It has been hard for her seeing the families of her siblings grow up while she has struggled to find "the one".
Thomas has welcomed two new daughters with his second wife. He is very busy with his new family and doesn't often see his older children except for Micah who now has a son the same age as one of his little girls and so often brings Carter around to play with his young aunts. Micah and Alaina's relationship is going strong.
