[Opinions] Meredith Vs Edith
Which name sounds the most usable? What combos would you use? In particular, does Edith look more like an independent name or a nickname for Meredith?

Both are useable. I prefer Edith; it does not seem like a nickname for Meredith.

I prefer Edith but both are usable.
Meredith is very 80s to me. I picture it with names like Amanda and Heather.
Meredith seems more like an elaboration on Edith, than Edith seems like it could be a nick for Meredith.
Edith is getting cute again as a baby name.Edith Marion

Meredith. It’s pretty and underused. Edith is perfect if your child comes out of the womb aged 70+. Don’t care for the nn Edie either. Sounds like gibberish or a sound a siren or an alarm makes, not a name.

Edith Valora Edith is an independent name. I would never considerate as a nickname for Meredith, it doesn’t seem natural.

I like Edith much better, it looks cleaner, simpler and more international.

Edith is in the top 100 here in the U.K., I think it’s totally usable. Meredith feels very dated to me, something you’d expect to see on a woman in her 50s. I prefer Edith; I love it, actually. No, it doesn’t look like a nickname for Meredith.Combos:Edith Alexandria
Edith Juniper
Edith Annabel
Edith Josephine
Edith Keturah
Edith Rosamund
Edith Mary

Edith couldn't look less like a nn for Meredith if it practised for a month.I like Meredith quite a lot, though I don't think I'd ever use it myself. I have bad associations with Edith, though I can see that it must have been pretty once.Edith Linda Suzanne
