I would love to see more. Edith is sophisticated and classic.

Not pretty. Not even cute. Edith is perfect if your child comes out of the womb aged 70+. Don’t care for the nn Edie either. Sounds like gibberish or a sound a siren or an alarm makes, not a name

I'm in favor. I don't see it as old-ladyish anymore. If it's dated, it's just in the sense that I picture it on a young character in fiction about the 1920s.I proposed it as a name for our daughter, back in 2006. My husband said it'd be a "statement" and I guess he meant he thought it was unfashionable. I'd be happy if Edith was her name today, though.I wonder if one reason people don't go for it is because it's pretty blatantly Germanic, like Mildred.

I try to be open-minded and see the "old lady" names of my youth with new eyes, and sometimes I succeed. I've never succeeded with Edith. It will forever be "old lady" to me. Hard to imagine on a child.

I think it’s way too dated for a little girl, plus the Eddie nickname isn’t really desirable. What about maybe Esther?

I LOVE it!! It’s one of my absolute favourite names

I really like it. I love the -th ending (also, Judith, Lilith, Gareth, etc) and "Edie" is a great nickname. I think I would use it.

I think this name is slowly coming back into favor, but I still don't like it. It's like Evelyn (which I still don't like): stiff, overly formal, humorless.

I think it’s cute, especially with the nn Edie.

Very charming. It grows up well, and Edie is a nice nickname.
