Matt and Mary grew up together in the same neighborhood. They started dating in high school and lost touch a bit when they went to colleges on opposite sides of the country. After a number of years, they both moved back to the same area they grew up in and reconnected. After dating for another two years, they got married. Their daughter, Rachel, was born just ten months later. Their second daughter, Alex, was born five years after that. The two of them had always wanted a large family, but Mary had some trouble getting pregnant, and their third son wasn't born until Rachel was nine years old. The kids are getting older now, and starting to become their own people. Matt has worked for years as a lawyer for family court. He is very good at what he does, particularly because he has grown up in the area and knows many of the local backgrounds. Mary is a physical therapist--she worked as a clinician until a few years ago, when she took a management position for a therapy department at the large hospital in a nearby city. Rachel, their eldest, is a sophomore in college. She is studying psychology and social work. She is also playing field hockey. Alex just turned fifteen, and she is a high school sophomore. She also plays field hockey and is also passionate about swimming and dancing. Josh is 11, and he is in fifth grade. He plays lacrosse and runs track and field--he enjoys the running a lot and is outside most of the time. He also likes hiking and doing anything outdoors.
((ETA: Well, I totally didn't read the directions closely and added 10 to each of my child's age rolls...I'll just adjust next round))
