Blame Bruce Lansky for this misconcepted meaning...https://books.google.co.uk/books?id=g3WD2cn9hFAC&q=%22toshi%22+%22mirror+image%22&dq=%22toshi%22+%22mirror+image%22&hl=en&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwin4-LWjOTpAhWGI8AKHaVtBSoQ6AEIRjAD (ugh...why?)And also, I feel it fits better on Name Facts rather than Name Opinions, but anyway...I cannot find any kanji writing that even remotely has a meaning of "mirror" AND has the readings to, shi or toshi. 鏡, which means "mirror," have the Sino-JP readings kyō + kei and the native reading kagami (+ the nanori/name readings aki + kaga(n)). Jisho does have a word for a mirror image, 鏡像, but it is read as kyōzō.For more on where the name Toshi stems from, see my post on Toshirō here: https://beyondsakuraandhiroshi.wordpress.com/2020/04/19/toshiro/
