[Opinions] Frankie
What do you think of Frankie for a full name on a girl?

This isn't the type of name I usually would like much. However, a long time ago I met my best friend's grandma named Frankie and fell in love.
...or Fanny :o
It’s alright as a nickname, but very immature as a full name.
This is mine and my husband's second pick for a daughter. His brother and father are Frank (and more generations past too, I think) but neither of us like Frank on a boy or any longer forms of Frankie for either gender: Francis, Frances, Francesca, Franka etc
Being from England where Frankie is in the Top 65 for a boy and the Top 140 for a girl, I see it as another modern nickname-turn-fullname, much like my own. And I don't have a problem with that.
I think it packs a lot of spunk and is cute but I can still see it on an adult which I sometimes can't with other nickname names.

I like it. I think it’s cute and feisty. Also I much prefer it on a girl.
I love it as a nickname for Francesca, but I hate it as a given name.
I agree
It sounds cheap and hard-drinking. It sounds that way on a boy too. Frankie hangs around on the corner with his buddy Vinnie, waiting for a chance to start trouble.
Love the image
Yes, Frankie on a guy does make me think of "Italian Greaser" (so does Vinnie / Vinny).

I dislike it as a nn for a girl, and totally deplore it as a full name.
As a full, legal name, I think it is too juvenile and flippant to put on a birth certificate. (I feel the same way about Katie, Annie, Ricky, etc.) That said, I love it as a nickname for Francesca (as well as Frances).
Don't like it
