[Opinions] Roan
A person I know of (social media friend) just used Roan as a middle name for her child. I was really surprised to see in the database that it's not more popular or very established-- it's a user-submitted name, supposedly a variant of Ronne and appeared in the 400s on popularity lists in 2004 and 2005 (I believe the SS list in the US?).
Maybe I assumed it was more popular or established because of the similarity to Ronan or Rowan. Or maybe I find it familiar because it's used to describe horses with a specific coat color pattern.
Have you heard of this name being used before, and would you pronounce it with one or two syllables?
