[Opinions] Tracy WDYT?
What are your opinions on the name Tracy for a boy or girl? Which do you prefer it on?

It was masculine in Dickens, but the characters (in Pickwick Papers) all went by their lns anyway. Then when it suddenly became popular it was feminine and ubiquitous! Now it's history. I think of it as fem, but that does not mean I prefer it; I find it very dull and lacking in stature.
I've never been a fan. It's an early surname on a girl. Meh.
I think it's very cute for a girl, though dated. Much more dated on a boy and sounds very "Appalachian."
I had an aunt, I guess you'd call her, named Tracy, though I think, (but not sure, it was spelled Tracey. I say "sort of" because she died years before I was born, when she was a few months old.

Just curious. What makes it sound Appalachian to you?
It just has a very backwoods vibe to me; there's a couple of country singers named Trace and Tracy (males) and it just has that vibe to me.
I don't mind it on a boy but dislike it for a girl. I can't say I'm a fan of the name itself but on a boy it sounds fresher.
I don't necessarily think it's a bad name, I just think it's outdated. I know two female Tracys so biasedly I'd prefer it on a female.
Tracy is ok for a girl
I don’t like it on either, but if I heard the name Tracey, I would think it was a girl.
