[Opinions] Re: Montserrat vs Montse
in reply to a message by Briz
I'm not a fan of either name. I prefer Montse over Montserrat, but...I know a Montserrat nn Montse, so I can't think of Montse as a standalone name. I would assume her full name is Montserrat. This might not be the case if you live in an area where Montserrat is not a well-known name. Where I live I don't think anyone would see "Montse" and think "that's a nickname."

I was also thinking since its not a popular name where I live, that many wouldn't know its often a nickname. Also considering it for a middle name.
I also would like to echo that I am really liking your username Amparo. I like the meaning and that it sounds like "power" to me.

Slightly OT, but...Can I just say that I love your username? Because I do - I think Amparo is gorgeous! Is it your actual name (if you don't mind my asking)? There is a large Hispanic community where I live, but I've never encountered an Amparo in real life (though I have come across a couple Montserrats).

Thank you, you made my day! I have seen your comment on the name Amparo! It is not my actual name. "Amparo" is a reference to a family surname that I love (only two letters off and derived from the word)Even more OT: Your username always reminds me of the plant "yerba mate" www.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yerba_mate
