[Opinions] Barnabas
What are your thoughts on Barnabas? Do you prefer it to Barnaby? Are there any other international variations you like? What middle names would you pair with it?This was inspired by a dream I had last night, which took place in what I assume was the early interwar period, and featured an unnamed 29 year old woman who married a Viennese professor 16 years her senior, named Barnabas Goldberg. She also had a neurotic acquaintance named Simon, who had married a young widow named Simone.masculine list: https://www.behindthename.com/pnl/191050/124079

It’s very dated and unattractive, though better than the ugly Barnaby at any rate.

That sounds like an interesting dream.I'm not a fan of Barnabas but I strongly prefer it to Barnaby.I like "Varnava" which I just learned is the Russian variant.

I love both Barnabas and Simone! It's funny that Simon married Simone. Barnabas James

I’ve liked it since I came across it a few times in a census from the 19th century. I much prefer it to Barnaby.

I much prefer Barnaby to stodgy Barnabas.

It’s a mouthful and hard to imagine on a child. I do not like Barney at all. I would prefer Barnabas as a middle name.
