[Opinions] Clark and Rex
Do you have a preference between which name we should use for our son? Big sister's name is Kit so we want something masculine. Also, do you have any suggestions for middle names? So far we like Clark Thaddeus and Rex Thaddeus. We'd prefer a 3 or 4 syllable name because it sounds best with our 2 syllable last name that starts with an M. Thank you for your help.

I love both! Thaddeus gives both names an old vibe. I’d go with a “younger” middle name. I agree with 3/4 syllable middle name.Secretly I’ve always loved the name Clark for a girl *hides*
Rex Malachi
Rex Leonardo Rex Avery
Rex Rafael Rex Jolyon / Julian
Rex Sebastian Clark Maximilian / Maximus
Clark Damian / DamienClark Gideon
Clark Donovan Clark Jonathan

Rex seems more trendy and "cool", but Clark kind of makes me nostalgic in a good way, probably because of Christmas Vacation haha. I have never met a Clark, and it might be cute on a little boy. I do think it would age well too. I like Thaddeus as a mn too. Some other combo ideas:Rex Edmond
Rex Abraham
Rex Alden
Rex Archibald
Rex Beauden
Rex Bartholomew
Rex Campbell
Rex Elijah
Rex Emerson
Rex Emmanuel
Rex Garland / Harland
Rex Jameson
Rex Jonathan
Rex Cameron
Rex Peregrine
Rex Sheridan
Rex Solomon
Rex Ulysses
Rex WinstonClark Emmett
Clark Abraham
Clark Alden
Clark Ambrose
Clark Beauden

I prefer Clark. Rex reminds me of dogs, dinosaurs and the word “wrecks”. However, while none of that appeals to me as a woman in my 30s, I could see a little guy absolutely loving his name because of it.

I like both, but Rex Thaddeus shines more to me. I've actually been stuck on this name for a few days because of a family member who had the name that I wanted to honor. His name was Rex Marion.Rex Thaddeus is lovely as it is, but here are some more combos--Rex Cassander
Rex Nathaniel
Rex Theodore
Rex Evander

Rex!!! I love the name Rex and Rex Thaddeus as a combo? Gorgeous! Kit and Rex are so cool for siblings too! So much better than Clark, which I find too stuffy and boring. Rex has some spunk to it.

I much prefer Rex to Clark, but I think Clark fits nicer with your daughters name.

I like Rex much more. I'm not good at coming up with combos. Thaddeus is a bit, I don't know, obscure or unusual maybe, for me personally. I do think either first name needs a longer middle name though.

They're fun - Clark is more scholarly, Rex is more macho. I personally like Clark better. Thaddeus is a cool middle name. I think Theodore is cool too, but maybe too dorky for you.Rex Constantine would be corny, wouldn't it? LolI feel like Lillian (former poster) would have tons of great combos for you... sigh. Benedict would be a good middle name for either. Sylvester. Dorian. As far as other first names, you might like Clive? Could be totally missing the mark there. Leo - Drake (subtle animal theme with Kit) - Peter.Let us know what you decide! We would also be happy to know the sister's fn/mn. Sorry if that sounds creepy and no pressure to share if you're not comfortable with it - it's the kind of curious we are.

I like Rex. My husband vetoed it for our child, but I'd have used it. (He associates it with dogs, bc there used to be a famous tv show with a police dog called Rex) Clark reminds me of superman. Not bad, but I just like Rex way better. Thaddeus is a nice MN.

I think of Clark Griswold. Haha

Clark is too Kent, unless there is a strong family reason to use it. So, Rex. I rather like it, though I find it tricky to say Rex Thaddeus. Rex Jonathan, Rex Benjamin, Rex Alastair, Rex William, Rex Barnaby, Rex Florian ... ?

I like both but I like Rex more. It's dashing and handsome and it needs people to use it to rescue it from "dog name" status. I'm not good at making combos but do want to say that I agree a 3 or 4 syllable middle name should be chosen.
