No, I don't think so. I would hope nobody would try it.
I'm not fond of it as a male name either, it's just so sharp and abrupt. This is one Anglo-Saxon surname that really doesn't work very well for a first name, even though it doesn't really grate on me like Murphy or Lowell or something else. It could make a fairly handsome mn.Before you criticize a man, walk a mile in his shoes. That way, when you criticize him, you're a mile away and you have his shoes!
