I like it. It's dated to my generation in the US, and I knew many a Cindy growing up. I've also known a Cynthia who used Cyd and one who went by Cynthy. Both of these women were a bit younger. I've also known a Cinda.
Because no Cynthia I've ever known has gone by the full name, it sounds fresh and new to me. And because Cindy was so common for my time, it sounds very everyday to me.
