[Opinions] Bella twins BAs
Hey all,
Twins Brie and Nikki Bella (former pro wrestlers) had their babies one day apart.
Nikki and Artem Chigvinstev (dancing with the stars) have a boy, Matteo Artemovich
Brie and Daniel Bryan (WWE) also had a boy, Buddy Dessert. He joins big sister Birdie Jo

Matteo Artemovich is awesome. I'm glad they stuck with the patronymic.
Birdie Jo is cutesy, but tolerable. Pair it with Buddy and it's saccharine and more than a little ridiculous. Dessert may be a family name, but it demands a serious first name. William Dessert sounds significantly less ridiculous and they could still be all theme-y with the B names and call him Billy.

Matteo Artemovich is great.
Birdie Jo is cute, if a little kitschy. There's something appealing to me about Birdie, though I like it more as a NN or at least with a more substantial MN than Jo.
Buddy Dessert crosses the line of ridiculousness. Buddy is fine as a NN but sad as a given name IMO. I understand Dessert is a family surname to Brie, but for the majority of us, it's cake. And it's awful as a name.

personally
I would rather inherit a family tendency toward bunions or pigeon-toes than the family name of Dessert.

I agree, it doesn't belong on a birth certificate. In most situations it just sounds like what some guy might use to address a random male he doesn't know. Less formal than sir. "Hey buddy, got change for a dollar?" Like that. Like Sonny or Mac.
Mateo got off very lightly here.
Seriously. Buddy Dessert is ridiculous, like his parents both have been hit on the head a few too many times. What is he, one-serving instant pudding or something?
And Buddy and Birdie Jo sound like a cartoon pair of barefoot, toothless hillbillies.

Nikki should be given naming rights over all of her twins current and future children.
Oh noooooooo. Buddy Dessert may take the cake (pun intended) for the hokiest name I've ever heard.
Like, I get that she wanted to honor her grandmother by using her maiden name, but she could've easily gone with a masculine form of her first name instead.

Have I got this right? A woman named Brie, like the cheese, names her son Buddy DESSERT? Pardon my CapsLock, but I feel like shouting. Buddy would always be awful, but Buddy Dessert ... now I'm thinking of other menu items, and this could keep me busy all day. Maybe Consomme for a future daughter? Meringue? Or Wellington, after the Beef? Oh dear.
My exact thoughts. What the heck was she thinking?
^LOL^
lol :) *spoiled yorkies*
Just read a little more, Dessert is pronounced the same as Desert and is her Grandmas maiden name
Hmm, well at least there is some reason for it and she's not thinking of her son as some sort of cuddly confection. But, I mean, come on! My grandma's maiden name was Kleckley. I loved her to death, but her last name was hideous and so I'm not going to use it! I don't get recycling ugly or bizarre names.

I feel like in the middle name slot anything goes, though I did spend some years being annoyed at my parents for the bizarre surname that is my middle name.
I think it'd be less bad if it was just an odd name and not a word. Also if his name was a name and not a generic term of endearment or word for friends...
Honestly. I'm shocked you haven't got a little relative named Kleckley running around. That seems very in vogue atm.

Yeah, some surnames work well as given names (first or middle), but some decidedly do not.
Some names shouldn't be used willingly. I have a friend who's surname is Semenchuk... I'll just leave that here.
