[Opinions] Howard
This is my husbands favourite name and as he will only accept mine as a middle name I’m going with it to keep the peace. I don’t dislike the name I just think it’s really old fashion for a first name spot and would rather use it as a middle name. WDYT of Howard?Hoping for
Howard Ian Graham

I kind of hate it tbh. It's very dated and sounds a little creepy to me.

I know a Howard he's around 20 now. I don't dislike it but I don't hate it either, the names that make me think great-grandad names like Howard, Walter & Stanley are definatley coming back. (I wanted to use Stanley for my youngest but my hubby didn't like it). P.S. I love your girls name.

Thank you. I’m part Welsh and proud. The first name is the only name husband and I agree on. He’ll go with the others though as they’re middle names.

I know exactly one Howard, who is well into his 80s by now, I would guess; married to a senior in-law. He's a pleasant enough guy. But the name just does not appeal at all: stodgy in full, and it only shortens to Howie, which is pretty darn awful.I love Ian and Graham; especially Ian! I would have used it for my son, but my SIL had just divorced a very nice Ian, so for the sake of family peace, I didn't. But, my husband's fn is a family one but really dated and unappealing, so he's always gone by his mn. Could you do the same with Howard - have it as an opener but use one of the others?

I honestly think it’s one of the ugliest names out there.
It could also have to do with a very bad name association, but it easily tops my least favorite lists. I don’t care for the sound, at all.
Sorry :(

I like it as a middle name with just the right first name to balance out the gritty retro sound and feel.
