[Opinions] What do you think of these nicknames for Jocelyn?
Jocelyn is a pretty and interesting name, although it's a little long. I have thought of diminutives/nicknames for it. What do you think of them? Which is your favourite?Jo
Joy
Joyce
Jocie
Jocy
Jo-Lyn
Lyn

JossI see that almost everyone likes the nickname Joss. I forgot to include it, and it is my favourite, because it is not cutesy nor boring.

I really expected Joss to be on this list and I was just thinking about it because Jossie came up in a CAF on the Games board. The ones you listed are ok. If I had to choose from this list, I'd say Jo or Jocie. But I think Joss is definitely "cooler" than these options as a nn for Jocelyn.

Jo -super boring for Jocelyn
Joy -seems weird and contrived
Joyce -dated, weird, and contrived
Jocie -cutesy, babyish
Jocy -worse than the above
Jo-Lyn -hillbilly, weird, and dated
Lyn -whatever
I can't say I like any of them. I thought Joss / Jossa / Josi was gonna be on this list.
It's okay to change a letter. There's no I in James, but Jim and Jimmy get on just fine.

I love Joy, but not as a nn.The only nn for Jocelyn that I've ever seen used IRL is Joss, which is why I'd only ever use Jocelyn as a mn.

I've never met a Jocelyn who didn't go by the full name most of the time. It's not that long and the "e" basically disappears in everyday conversation. I can think of one Jocelyn I know whose family members called her Joss some of the time (or maybe Joc prn. Joss), but usually it was just Jocelyn. Joss (or Joc/Joce prn. Joss), Josie, Jocy (prn. Jossy), or Lyn would make the most sense to me.

Jo and Joy are cute. I have a fondness for Joyce. My favorite NN is Joss, but the nicknames I like usually don't mesh with the favorites on BtN.

Joss makes the most sense for Jocelyn!

Joss would probably be my pick, too. Though I also like it as a nickname for Joseph. It just has a cooler, slightly edgier feel than the usual nicknames for both.

Yeah, but the last conversation I had about it, it wasn't well favored. That was a while ago, so maybe the opinion has changed.
