I wouldn't worry at all about not being Welsh, if that's holding you back. our daughter's name is either Danish/Icelandic or Irish (depending on which etymology you prefer) and we're Dutch with my husband being a quarter German. It's absolutely no issue at all. If you'd plan to use a very ethnic sounding Japanese name or something, then yes, I might advise to think twice, but Bronwen is straightforward enough to be used by non-Welsh people.

My husband has some Welsh, I think. There is a Welsh surname in his family tree. I think Bronwen is fine in the US, which is where we live. But it feels so opposite Italian, but my older daughter's name does not translate well either so I do not know why I am making this an issue!
