I love it on a boy, but I've been told it's an inportant feminine name in some cultures so I gave it up as a first a while ago. Plus popularity was getting at me. I still think it's a great name though, and has honorary 2nd favourite name position. It's magical, soft, and sweet to my ears.

I’ve been thinking about this name a lot recently. I think it can work for boys or girls, but I much prefer it for a boy. It just has a more masculine feel to me.

I love Phoenix and I'd consider using it if it wasn't a bit on the "too strange" side.

It’s tacky, immature, a bit pretentious, and honestly just stupid. I hate it on both genders.

I don't like it, it's not my style. I've mostly heard it on girls; one little girl I know sometimes gets called "Fifi" for short.

I like it. I especially like the look of it.

I like it on a girl. The Phoe- reminds me of Phoebe and I think that makes it seem feminine. I also like the nickname Nixie (two mythical creatures in one!). It might be a GP for me now because it's so shiny and fiery.

Phoenix is something of a GP of mine; and due to the first syllable being identical to Phoebe's, I think of Phoenix as mainly a feminine name. (Also, the "nix" ending reminds me of Stevie Nicks. Actually the whole name does, for some reason.)

I feel like Phoenix is a unisex name.

My go to assumption would be male. But non-traditional names like this can sort of go either way in many cases.

I always saw Phoenix as a more masculine name personally.

I have a friend named Phoenix who is non-binary. It feels very arty to me.

The only Phoenix I ever knew personally was a (very bratty) little girl; she is probably at least sixteen now.
It's such a word to me that I can't really think of it as a name for either a boy or a girl. If I read the name someplace and had to guess, I would guess it was a girl but I wouldn't put any money on it.
