[Opinions] Re: Lunetta and Julina
in reply to a message by Uilos
"lunettes" are "glasses" in French and Lunetta just reminds me of the word. It isn't appealing and neither is Julina. They both seem made up. As if you liked Luna and Julia but desperately wanted something less common.Instead I'd suggest names that don't seem so contrived such as Juliet, Juliette, Lyra, Lana or Juliana. However, the names aren't awful. So if you like them, go for them :)

I agree. They look like nicknames, or pets’ names.

I'm not planning to use these names in real life: I was simply intrigued by these names and wanted to know others' opinions about them. :) (I do prefer Juliana to Julina: the former also appears in my family tree.)

Oh even if you were, I think they are perfectly fine. Just not really to my taste.

Lyra and Lana sound no less contrived to me.

I guess everyone is different. Lana has been used for ages in many different cultures and Lyra is related to astronomy. To me they carry much more weight and meaning than Lunetta.
