[Opinions] Wisteria
I've been thinking a lot about Wisteria lately. In general, I balk at flower names derived from (male) botanists' last names (e.g. Zinnia and Dahlia), but Wisteria bothers me less than those names for some reason. I think I'm charmed by the name's poetic wistfulness. I know it was the name of the street where the titular "desperate housewives" lived, but I don't care about that. Perhaps most importantly, the flower is beautiful. What do you think? Here are some combos:Wisteria Alice
Wisteria Bernadette
Wisteria Bethsabée
Wisteria Blythe
Wisteria Bronwen
Wisteria Colombe
Wisteria Constance
Wisteria Cosima
Wisteria Daphne
Wisteria Eloise
Wisteria Florence

Since spotting it in one of your polls I’ve fallen in love with it. I think it’s beautiful! I do have a weak spot for flower/plant names but it’s the first time I’ve come across Wisteria. It reminds me of a children’s book character. Especially in combination with the name Eloise.
My favorite is Wisteria Therese (exotic, romantic) I also like Wisteria Maud (vintage) and Wisteria Sophie (bringing it to this century) I really don’t like Wisteria Colombe (masculine, surname?), and I’d replace Colombe for it’s meaning (if I remember correctly); Wisteria Dove

Ooh, I love. There is something gently, deliciously witchy about Wisteria. Like an ethereal old woman who lives deep in the woods in a beautiful cottage, surrounded by sighing trees at all times. Wisteria Daphne strikes my fancy because it puts me in mind of Daphne du Maurier's Rebecca - the mysterious moody atmosphere of Manderley. Wisteria Rebecca is no good though. I wish we knew what the narrator's name was, I feel like that would be a good pairing for Wisteria, on a name-soul level. I remember the first time I read Rebecca, in my youthful mind I immediately thought "I bet her name is ancient Greek, starting with a P" so maybe I'd pair Wisteria with something like that. Wisteria Nimue is also a DELIGHT, augh. And I can't say no to Wisteria Sibyl. Just for fun, some Greek P-names with Wisteria :)Wisteria Pelagia
Wisteria Parthenope
Wisteria Persephone
Wisteria Persis
Wisteria Philomela
Wisteria Phyllis (I actually quite like this)
Wisteria Psyche
Wisteria Penelope
Wisteria Phaedra
Wisteria Pallas
Wisteria Pyrrha
Wisteria Polymnia
Wisteria Pasiphae oooo
Wisteria Perseis
Wisteria Psamathe

It works very well in some combos and not at all in others - to my personal eyes and ears, of course. Interesting!I like:
Wisteria Blythe
Wisteria Constance
Wisteria Helen
Wisteria Jane
Wisteria Judith
Wisteria Margaret
Wisteria Patience
Wisteria Sophie
Wisteria TanithI don't think a mn starting with a vowel is a good idea, especially when the vowel is A. So, no Alice, Eloise, Ingrid. And it doesn't seem to work with other flower names either: Daphne, Florence even, Madelief.

I've been really interested in it lately, too! There's just something so, well, wistful about it, hahaha. Wisteria Melusine is STUNNING.
If you're interested in other suggestions, I think Wisteria Clémence also sounds lovely. :)

I want to like Wisteria but it's a bit much for me. The flowers are beautiful though and I do enjoy that imagery! I also take issue with it being so similar to Listeria.Putting that aside I do like the sound of:
Wisteria Alice
Wisteria Florence
Wisteria Magdalene
Wisteria Maud
Wisteria Patience
Wisteria Sylvie

Wisteria‘s not really my type, but I will admit it has a very whimsical, almost fairy-like charm.Wisteria Constance, Wisteria Daphne, Wisteria Jane, Wisteria Magdalene, Wisteria Melusine, Wisteria Sophie, and Wisteria Sylvie are beautiful.
