I'm more familiar with this being a surname, specifically the surname of one our nursery teachers. Both women were lovely (Bramley and Kelly) and I have fond, if faint, memories of them. Then there's also Gene Kelly.
But I had a college friend called Kelly and I admit that it was jarring the first time I heard this surname be used as a first name. Also my newly-met American friend is called Kelly.
I do like it, I think it's nice. Not my style, but it's nice.
It's got a 90s sound to it, but this might be due to Mrs Kelly, the nursery teacher and this was literally 1997 - 1998 so
