[Opinions] Geneva vs Genevieve?
Which do you prefer and what combos would you use for each one?

GenevieveGeneva’s nice, but Genevieve is much better - more elegant and with more historical significance.
Something like Genevieve Louise or Genevieve Lisette would be nice.

I prefer Genevieve, because
A: It sounds more pleasant
B: Geneva makes me think of Nazi war crimes.

I'd use Geneva before I would use Genevieve. I like the French Genevieve - which is awkward for an English speaker imo - but the English pronunciation seems overbearing to me. I don't mind the name too much though, and I see why people would prefer it (Geneva being a city). I've encountered young girls named each, and I thought Geneva seemed much cooler tbh.

GenevieveGenevieve is lovely. Geneva is a city. That said, Ginevra seems to me like it might be the obvious compromise between the two. It’s a people name (so not a city) and it’s still short and pretty close to Geneva. Genevieve Marie
Genevieve Anne
Genevieve Sophie
Genevieve April
Genevieve Coralie
Genevieve Rosalie
Genevieve Beatrice

I suppose I prefer Geneva, because everyone can spell and pronounce it. But I love Genevieve with its actual French pronunciation - fat hope of that! I wouldn't use any combo; I wouldn't use either name. If I wanted a Jenny daughter, I'd go the Jennifer route.

GenevieveThis was not a hard choice at all. For a combo, I think I’d use Genevieve Rosalind or Genevieve Annelie, both middle names for honoring purposes.

Genevieve. Geneva is a city in Switzerland that has an airport so it's just way too destination-like for me and unlike Sofia not well established enough as a name to not make me think of the city. Ginevra is better than Geneva.

Neither both look pretentious to me :/
