I think it's cute and old-fashioned, but I always say fil-EE-pa instead of Philip-a and I don't know if that's a real pronunciation. I think it goes well with lacy, dusty, and floral names. (Rosemary, Annegret, Theodosia, Winifred, Wilhelmina, etc.)
