I feel like I could have a great uncle Blondell; I don't, but it seems plausible...it fits in fine with names like Vernell, Mozell,
Ike,
Eldred,
Page,
Gordon,
Veda,
Loretta.
I picture a man who was likely born during the Great Depression and worked most of his life as a grocer or logger or maybe in a cigarette factory...or not.
It also reminds me a bit of names like
Ivory and
Garnet, for men. Or names like
Floyd,
Clifford,
Grover,
Darrell,
Craig,
Delores,
Norma,
Juanita,
Carolyn.
I'd prefer
Wendell,
Odell,
Russell,
Cornel.
