[Opinions] Skadi
I saw the name Skadi earlier looking at random unique girl names, and I wanted to know peoples opinions on it. The name Skadi comes from Skaði which means “harm” and the Germanic skadus, meaning "shadow.". Skadi is a Norse goddess of snow and winter who is associated with mountains, hunting, and tools of survival in the snowy wastes. One theory suggests that Scandinavia was named in her honor. It is pronounced either SKA-DE, SK-AYE-DE, or SKA-THEE. The name was #12,979 last year, and now it is #9,007 this year.Anyhoo, What do you think of the name Skadi? Which way would you prefer it pronounced? What would you rate the name Skadi on a scale from 1-10? (0 being awful.)"People say nothing is impossible, but I do nothing all day." Rate my personal name list please :) https://www.behindthename.com/pnl/217493

Too close to 'skade', which is Afrikaans for 'damage', so unusable where I live.

I like the meaning. The name I guess could grow on me. Right now it's a lot like Skoal for me

It is interesting that the name closely resembles/sounds like the word skating. The meaning is cool in a terrifying way. For a character, I would rate the name 7/10. For a living person, I would rate the name 4/10 because I wouldn't want a name that meant "harm" and has a frigid association.
