[Opinions] Ash & Jett (Supernatural YA genre)
Main characters, twin brothers: Ash & Jett.Ash Montague is the protagonist, on the run from his family of witches, basically one of the good guys. Ash had the ability to feel people's emotions & pain and it's made him very sympathetic. He acts closed off because he's mostly trying to avoid people's overwhelming emotions. He has Dark hair, grey eyes and a beautiful smile. I've considered making 'Ash' short for another name; leaning heavily towards Ashland, Ashmond V (passed down name) Ashwood, Ashcroft & Ashworth (Found the names on a name encyclopedia). His love interest a girl named Scarlet Carpenter.Jett Montague is the antagonist. He is the younger twin of Ash. Jett is next in line to take over the family, but he has been given a mandate to track down his brother and bring him home by any means necessary. Jett believes that Ash is weak and that he [Jett] ought to be the leader of the family. He is disgusted by Ash's love for the human, Scarlet. Jett's powers are an antithesis of Ash's. He creates emotions in others, getting into people's heads and inducing fear/ terror as a means to control them. He frequently says things like: 'You can either step down, or you can lay down'. He has silvery blond hair with very dark, almost black eyes. Alternative name was Curan/ Curran.
Are the names somewhat on the nose?Slytherin will help you on your way to greatness!!!

They fit the genre and they fit together well. I would definitely not make Ash short for something. It would ruin the way they fit together completely and the name would lose some of its 'power'.

Very complementary and stylish.I've loved the one-syllable theme myself lately. Ash is one of my favorites, and I would consider Jett as well. Other similar names I love and would use: Zak (short for Zadkiel)
Ahn (means "tranquility")
Kaj (variant of Kai)
Wren
