I quite like it, it's like a spunky version of Anne or Anna. I've always heard it pronounced ann-EE-ka.I

Where I live, it's middle-aged at best, and usually spelt Anneke or sometimes Annetjie. Although it is used as a name in its own right, it always seems nicknamey to me, which seems unfair to elderly women; they surely deserve something with more dignity.
