It doesn't really give off any kind of vibe to me. It's just one of those generic, last-name-as-first-name white names that are so popular now, but also one of the ones that feels old-mannish.
There's a little town in Maryland, not very far from here, called Preston, and a Ford dealership called Preston Ford that is pretty well-known in the area, and that's really all I can think of when I hear the name.
