It’s fine but feels kind of stereotypically Russian.

Reminds me of sweat, svet does. Lana by itself is best imo.

I like it, it has a good meaning and somewhat poetic beauty.

I love it. Mostly because I can't unsee the meaning and I have a thing for "bright" names. I prefer Świetlana, though - I love the swishing sound of "świe-", and it just means "radiant" in Polish. Świetłana is nice too - the "-łan-" part brings to mind (in Polish) a field of golden wheat and I'm very weak for this kind of imagery. Not a popular name at all but so so beautiful. Although, even in the polonized version it still sounds distinctly Russian.

I'd never use Lana as a nn, though. I don't like it. I'm not sure what I'd use but definitely not that.

I never cared for it, the first syllable reminds me of "sweat". Lana is better. Also Svetlana is one of THE names for women in Russian speaking countries and some other countries as well. Or it was until the 90s or so. I know quite a few Svetlanas. Some go by Lana, some by Sveta I have never met one who used the full name. So yeah, I vote for just Lana.

I like it, particularly with the nickname Lana. It's the name of a good friend of mine, though she's only ever called Lana.

A little bit of a mouthful, but it’s okay. I like the meaning. 6.5/10.
