[Opinions] Vespasian
The discussion about toilets being called "bogs" made me curious if anyone here would associate Vespasian with urinals (vespasienne, vespasiano) if they heard it as a name. I don't and quite like the name but have wondered before if it'd be embarrassing to be called that in some places.
So...what are your associations with Vespasian?
I think I kind of associate it with vespas, vespers, wasps, and spaciousness.

It's cool and very Roman! I like it for a character.
I associate it strongly with toilets because that’s what the name is strongly associated with in Italian. I’d feel really sorry for someone with this name.
I wasn't aware of the urinal connection. I like Vespasian, it sounds cool in a supervillain who lives in a volcano kind of way.
I know about the urinal connection (and the poor man died of diarrhoea!), but it doesn't bother me. He was an interesting person and a good emperor - first of the Flavians, and with a sense of humour rare in classical antiquity: Puto deus fio, indeed! But, Vespasian is a one-owner name to me.
The only association I have with Vespasian is the emperor.
I would not like Vespasian as a name of a human being it's just doesn't sound like a name to me
I didn’t know there were urinals with a similar name, and would not think to associate the name with urinals.
I like the wasp and spaciousness meanings. It sounds kinda extravagant and weird to me. I've never heard of the urinal connection.
I love Vespasian and never think about the toilets, though I'm aware of the association.
