They're both okay ...
I like Kelvin because I like the Kel- syllable. I'm a little put off by the similarity to Kevin, though, and by the "Lord Kelvin" association.
I like Calvin because I like the sounds in it okay, I like Cal; and it seems more classic. I'm put off a bit by the association with Calvinism.
Kelvin seems a bit more surnamey than Calvin. But has a better meaning.
Hmmm ... Right now the Calvinism thing seems to bother me the most, so I'll go with Kelvin today.
