If I don't post about these names I'll forget about them.
Ned was one of my proto-favorite names, was there some Nancy Drew handsome character named Ned? I've always liked it, it seems so friendly and moderate and smart.
Edwin is my favorite full name for it.
Florian, what a fun name.
What other names do I like that I always forget about? Maybe you guys can remind me. Bela.

I like Ned more, very basic. Florian is a princely name. Ned was a Dr Seuss character too. I like it as a stand alone name tho, not short for anything.
I like Marvin, Rudolph, Stewart, Louis, Gary...idk if that's what you're looking for, kinda fall into the category of random, semi-forgetable guy names.

I adore Florian! It made my top ten this month. I love that it's baroque to me but quite common (if not dated) in Germany.

I know a Matthew Florian; he has family links to Austria, which is why his parents chose this as his mn. He loves it.

I taught an Attila once, who was Hungarian and very unsatisfactory: lazy and given to petty dishonesty. Since that's my only association, I'm afraid it's wrecked the name for me.

I have no name context for Attila at all aside from a title for an ancient hun. Can't say it interests me.
Wish I liked Edmund. I don't like many E-names. Internalized self-loathing? I think the Ed-names are generally drab.

Like Manipura, I used to dislike Florian too - it kinda just felt like a dandyish "pretty boy" type name. But now I’ve warmed up to it, and turns out I really have a thing for "pretty boy" names - though as of now Florian is the main one. Can anyone suggest any more?

I like Ned too, it's very friendly, I agree. It's tidy. Edwin as a full version is really cute. I like the idea of "Nedwin" a LOT.
I follow a.... church? On Instagram called St. Florian, it posts lovely Baroque and Rococo pictures. It has THE LIBRARY from Beauty and the Beast. I enjoy Florian's frippery as well.

Umm maybe Edwin St. Florian would be a fun combo. I love St. Florian as a church name, I ache to work at a place like that. I like the name of my local lovely Episcopal church too - St. Dunstan's.

omg, Edwin St Florian "Ned" is so cool. I'd prefer Esmond St Florian just because I'm obsessed with meanings but whatever.
It's funny to me that St Florian is patron of firefighters, soap makers and chimney sweeps. It sounds so rococo that I never thought of it in that context.

I like the meaning of Edwin. It's got "friend" right in it. I tried to like Esmond, and Desmond, and all of the ed-names, but I just don't. Edwin is the one I like the most, but I only like it a little.

I feel like Ned is Fred's son and Nathan's dad. Jovial and even-keeled.
I feel weird about Florian because I used to scorn it for sounding fancy and now I don't. I'd like to meet a plumber named Florian.

I like Fred a lot. Too bad I cannot have sons named both. I dislike Nathan but I see where you're coming from.
The only Florian I met was a hot kinda airheaded dude in Vienna who was very nice. I don't have a context for it being an Anglicized name, but I'd like one. It feels as European as Franz but I want it to feel more like Julian. Oh I like Julian I should play with it.
