Thank you all for your help with my previous question. With those same parameters in mind (not too "out there" and not too common) does the name Anais work? How about the nickname Ana? And what about omitting the trema? Is it horrible without it? Thanks again.

Anais is a lovely name, and I think it would be fine without the trema. Ana is a nice nickname. Have you considered spelling it the Spanish way (Anaís)?

It's not my taste but I really like it, it's not too common and not too "out there" ;-). I would write it with trema (which I love) in any case! Without it I would pronounce it AN-ays. Ana is soooo cute as a nickname! Good choice!
