Elle / Ellie, or BethThose are the only two I'd consider.Liz & Lizzie are both played out for me, particularly among Elizabeths in my generation. Bess / Bessie, Betsy, and Bette / Betty are all really dated. Liza & Eliza actually feel like separate names to me, diminutives that gained their own identity (like Sadie or Sally for Sarah).Effie wouldn't even occur to me as a nickname for Elizabeth, to be honest. And Buffy is synonymous with vampire slaying.

Libby & BettyI also like Buffy, but I’d never be brave enough to use it.

Haha. As someone who is an Elizabeth. I love the nicknames Elise, Betsy/Betsey. You can also try Ella even though that's a stretch.

My favourite nicknames for Elisabet are Eliška, Elis, Betty and Bětka and Běta (that's Czech nickname).

My favorite is Lizzy. I really love Eliza, but I prefer it as a standalone name & same goes for Liza. I also like Betty, Betsy, Liz, and Ellie as nns for Elizabeth. I strongly dislike Beth.

I know a Lilli who is 'really' Elizabeth: it was her two elder siblings' best attempt when she was new and they were tiny, and it stuck. The only one on your list that I like is Betsy. The others don't do it for me; especially boring Liz.There are also Bethan and Betsan, both Welsh diminutives, similar to Megan from Margaret. I like them both, especially Betsan (which I have only encountered on a BBC reporter).Elspeth - would it count as a diminutive? And Elsabe? I think they are mostly if not always used as full names in their own right.

I like Bette, and Bettye is a GP. There's something very 1930's trashy-classy about Bettye that I like. Bettye Violet is a combo I think about sometimes. Bess is cute too. I also like Lilibet quite a lot.

My favourites are Bethan (also a name in its own right nowadays) and Libby and also Lisette Another Welsh nn is BetsanAlso heard of:
Lilias and Lillias - Scottish names derived from Elizabeth
Lylie - used in 19th century Ebgland as a nn for Eliza
Tetty (Dr Johnson's wife Elizabeth's nn, not used much sine the 18th century - Totty was used for Charlotte)

Although I'm not a great fan of nicknames, some of them are nice. My favorite ones are:
Lisbeth and Lizbeth
Elise and Eliza
Ellie (could also be a short dorm of Eleanor)
Leebeth (queen Elizabeth II's nickname, derived from the way she pronounced her name when she was a little girl)

I believe Queen Elizabeth's nickname is Lilibet.

CorrectionI meant Elisa, not Eliza. I don't like the name Eliza (respecting the Elizas out there).

My favorites are Eliza (though I do think Eliza can certainly stand on its own, and is a bit much for a nickname given it’s still a 3 syllable name), Ellie & Lizzie.
