Year 1: Alonso and Sabina have been friends forever and have been courting for 4 years, but Alonso only worked up the courage to propose when Sabina gave him an ultimatum. They move to a small bakery in a town twenty miles away from the city where they grew up. Soon after their own wedding, they head back to the city in which they grew up, though, as Sabina's twin sister is getting married as well.

Year 5: A mystic who lives in the woods and somehow escaped the previous year's forest fire predicts good omens for the whole of the town. For the Carrillo's, it comes true, when they welcome a third daughter, Lucia, named for Sabina's twin sister. Lucia is born looking completely different from anyone in the family, with red hair and dark blue eyes, which leads to unkind rumors throughout the town that Lucia was born of a different father.

Year 7: The couple has their fourth daughter, Cristina. Alonso was wishing for a son with this pregnancy, but upon the birth of his daughter he forgets all his wishes, for he loves her so much that he doesn't care she's a girl. Elena begins to love to bake and cook, so during the day, she helps her father in the bakery, and in the evenings, she helps her mother prepare dinner. Valeria, on the other hand, is showing interest in play-fighting and competing in races with neighbors' sons.

Year 8: The town's bulletin once again has unkind things to say about Sabina. Bringing back the rumors that circulated around Lucia's birth, some of the villagers are claiming that Sabina has been unfaithful to Alonso, or that she's pregnant with another man's baby. Sabina is heartbroken by these rumors, and starts to avoid their neighbors at all costs. Alonso knows the rumors are just that; gossip. He does his best to console Sabina, but she is desolate.

Year 9: The Carrillo family welcomes their first son, and he is a treasure to both parents. His extreme resemblance to Alonso, besides his black hair, ease some of the rumors flying around, and Sabina is able to relax and enjoy life a bit more. Alonso is extremely pleased to have a son. Damian's older sisters all love him, except for Cristina. She's so used to being the baby that having a new one in the house makes her jealous.

Year 10: Terrified whispers of an impending religious rebellion gain acknowledgement in the Empire, and everyone is terrified of war, or at least a skirmish, but thankfully everything is stamped down and worked out through negotiations.
On a better note, Lucia begins studying and playing card games, and is soon a good enough competitor that even Alonso has some difficulty beating her. The family soon decides to play card games as often as possible.

Year 11: Fear of religious rebellion comes around once again, but this time, the rumors prove to be true. Protestant Spaniards, angry with the oppression they receive from the government, join forces and rebel against the government. Alonso vows to Sabina that he won't get involved, and thankfully, no army asks for him to fight. The rebellion is over soon, as the government has a far superior military force to that of the Protestants, but the rebels vow that their fight isn't over, that they will come back when they are ready.

Year 12: An epidemic strikes the towns and cities surrounding Alonso and Sabina. It was brought by traveling soldiers who came to guard each and every major town from rebellion. Thankfully, through some miracle, the disease never reaches their town, and everyone stays healthy.
Alonso is pleased when Cristina takes up an interest in cooking and baking. She joins her father and Elena in the kitchens everyday.

Year 13: The family's beloved dog Lada dies of a heart disease at the age of 10. Soon after her departure, another person is added to the household. After losing his home, farm, & wife to a fire, Manuel de la Fuente is in need of a home, and he can't bear to live in the town where he lived with his wife, so he moves in with his sister and her family. He starts helping men out in their fields when they need extra hands, as he has no money to start up a new farm.

Year 14: After tiny rebellions take place in cities throughout the Empire, non-Catholics are rounded up by the hundreds and killed. Due to their Catholic faith, the Carrillo's are fine, but the news of so many people dying is tragic.
On a lighter note, Manuel remarries, to the daughter of a farmer he's been helping out a lot recently. As a wedding present, Manuel's new father-in-law gifts him and his pride with a few acres of land. With lots of helping hands, a cottage is put up in no time, and Manuel and his new wife Octavia move in. Five months after the wedding, a son is welcomed by the couple, and it suddenly becomes clear why there was such a rush for a wedding.
Damian shows an interest in painting and artwork, so Alonso and Sabina decide to hire him a tutor.

Year 15: With an increase in rats present in the bakery, the Carrillo family gets a pet kitten to help out. Cristina names the kitten Nina and Sabina is much relieved that this pet won't end up with a baby talk name, like Lada had.
Manuel and Octavia welcome a second son, just fourteen months after the last. Sebastian is named for his maternal grandfather, but is soon called Seb by nearly everyone.

Year 16: In a race with her best friend, Valeria trips down the side of hill, falling and twisting her ankle so severely that she cannot walk. The doctor tells her it will likely never heal and she becomes heartbroken. The injury means she can no longer fight, train, or engage in athletics, meaning she decides to get a real job. She is hired as a scribe, and though she hates the monotonous work, she prefers it to constant reminders that she is no longer who she was.
For the third year in a row, Manuel and Octavia welcome a son. Lucas is a cute baby, but is much hated by Mateo and Seb. Manuel and Octavia are rightfully concerned when they catch word of Mateo trying to sell the baby to nearby families.

Year 17: A society of people upset with the constant persecutions going on in the country gains speed, especially after yet anothe round up and murder of a group of Protestants. Unbeknownst to her family, Valeria joins. It's a way for her to feel useful, especially after her injury, and she enjoys the company. At one of the meetings, Valeria realizes that one of the men doing major work for the society is her best friend. She is so happy that he is there that it causes her to fully realize something she has mostly known for the past two years; she's in love with him. She doesn't say anything, though, as she's scared he'll reject her as a potential wife due to their long friendship, or because she'd be useless as a wife because she can't walk.

Year 18: When confronted by Esteban (her best friend) about why she's been acting so weird for the past year, Valeria admits to him her true feelings. Apparently, he feels the same way, for he asks to court her. Just five months later, he asks Alonso for Valeria's hand in marriage. Alonso and Sabina are reluctant to hand their daughter away so soon, but in reality, they had both been predicting this since before the couple even began seeing each other. Alonso says yes, and Valeria is whisked away into a new home with her new husband.
A tournament takes place in town, and normally, Valeria would be the one to compete for their family. However, due to her lame foot, the family sends in Alonso as a replacement. Alonso fails terribly, much to the family's amusement.
Manuel and Octavia's chickens have three eggs that hatch, and they decide to give each son a chick. The boys name their roosters Ned, Ted, and Ed, and take them everywhere.

Year 19: Another tournament means another loss for Alonso. Secretly upset by his losses, he starts to train in what little free time he has.
Elena gets a job as a cook for a restaurant in town. While working there, she meets a man named Leon traveling through. She falls in love with him and is soon pregnant with his child. Though he doesn't love her as much as she does him, Leon marries her to prevent a scandal. They move into cottage near the edge of town and start raising their son Nicolas together.
Although not planning on having children at such a young age, Valeria and Esteban find themselves expecting and a few months later they welcome their first child, a daughter named Silvia. Esteban helps Valeria through the difficult birth. The young couple adores their new daughter and her birth strengthens their roles in the secret society, as neither wants to live in a world in which their daughter could be persecuted.
Mateo loves farming and helps his parents out in the fields everyday.

Year 20: Another epidemic strikes, again brought on by traveling soldiers. Thankfully, once again, the whole family survives.
While Leon is out working one day, Elena, who has recently quit her job to take care of Nicolas full time, is home alone with the baby when someone breaks in. She doesn't believe she can fight him off, so she sneaks out a window with Nicolas and runs to get a neighbor. They come back in time to apprehend the thief, and thankfully everything is put back to its rightful place.
Just 18 months after Silvia's birth, Valeria, who once pictured herself becoming an old maid, gives birth again, this time to a son. She and Esteban could not be more happy with their life and little baby Gabriel is the icing on the cake for their family.
Manuel and Octavia adopt her 12 year old niece, Blanca, after her parents and siblings succumb to the terrible epidemic. Blanca is a shy girl who enjoys studying animals. Seb starts spending all of his time playing in the garden.

Year 7: The couple has their fourth daughter, Cristina. Year 8: The town's bulletin once again has unkind things to say about Sabina. Bringing back the rumors that circulated around Lucia's birth, some of the villagers are claiming that Sabina has been unfaithful to Alonso, or that she's pregnant with another man's baby. Sabina is heartbroken by these rumors, and starts to avoid their neighbors at all costs. Alonso knows the rumors are just that; gossip. He does his best to console Sabina, but she is desolate.

Year 9: The Carrillo family welcomes their first son, and he is a treasure to both parents. Year 10: Terrified whispers of an impending religious rebellion gain acknowledgement in the Empire, and everyone is terrified of war, or at least a skirmish, but thankfully everything is stamped down and worked out through negotiations.
On a better note, Lucia begins studying and playing card games, and is soon a good enough competitor that even Alonso has some difficulty beating her. The family soon decides to play card games as often as possible.

Year 11: Fear of religious rebellion comes around once again, but this time, the rumors prove to be true. Protestant Spaniards, angry with the oppression they receive from the government, join forces and rebel against the government. Alonso vows to Sabina that he won't get involved, and thankfully, no army asks for him to fight. The rebellion is over soon, as the government has a far superior military force to that of the Protestants, but the rebels vow that their fight isn't over, that they will come back when they are ready.

Year 12: An epidemic strikes the towns and cities surrounding Alonso and Sabina. It was brought by traveling soldiers who came to guard each and every major town from rebellion. Thankfully, through some miracle, the disease never reaches their town, and everyone stays healthy.

Year 13: The family's beloved dog Lada dies of a heart disease at the age of 10. Soon after her departure, another person is added to the household. After losing his home, farm, & wife to a fire, Manuel de la Fuente is in need of a home, and he can't bear to live in the town where he lived with his wife, so he moves in with his sister and her family. He starts helping men out in their fields when they need extra hands, as he has no money to start up a new farm.

Year 14: After tiny rebellions take place in cities throughout the Empire, non-Catholics are rounded up by the hundreds and killed. Due to their Catholic faith, the Carrillo's are fine, but the news of so many people dying is tragic.
On a lighter note, Manuel remarries, to the daughter of a farmer he's been helping out a lot recently. As a wedding present, Manuel's new father-in-law gifts him and his pride with a few acres of land. With lots of helping hands, a cottage is put up in no time, and Manuel and his new wife Octavia move in. Five months after the wedding, a son is welcomed by the couple, and it suddenly becomes clear why there was such a rush for a wedding.
Damian shows an interest in painting and artwork, so Alonso and Sabina decide to hire him a tutor.

Year 15: With an increase in rats present in the bakery, the Carrillo family gets a pet kitten to help out. Cristina names the kitten Nina and Sabina is much relieved that this pet won't end up with a baby talk name, like Lada had.
Manuel and Octavia welcome a second son, just fourteen months after the last. Sebastian is named for his maternal grandfather, but is soon called Seb by nearly everyone.

Year 16: In a race with her best friend, Valeria trips down the side of hill, falling and twisting her ankle so severely that she cannot walk. The doctor tells her it will likely never heal and she becomes heartbroken. The injury means she can no longer fight, train, or engage in athletics, meaning she decides to get a real job. She is hired as a scribe, and though she hates the monotonous work, she prefers it to constant reminders that she is no longer who she was.
For the third year in a row, Manuel and Octavia welcome a son. Lucas is a cute baby, but is much hated by Mateo and Seb. Manuel and Octavia are rightfully concerned when they catch word of Mateo trying to sell the baby to nearby families.

Year 17: A society of people upset with the constant persecutions going on in the country gains speed, especially after yet anothe round up and murder of a group of Protestants. Unbeknownst to her family, Valeria joins. It's a way for her to feel useful, especially after her injury, and she enjoys the company. At one of the meetings, Valeria realizes that one of the men doing major work for the society is her best friend. She is so happy that he is there that it causes her to fully realize something she has mostly known for the past two years; she's in love with him. She doesn't say anything, though, as she's scared he'll reject her as a potential wife due to their long friendship, or because she'd be useless as a wife because she can't walk.

Year 18: When confronted by Esteban (her best friend) about why she's been acting so weird for the past year, Valeria admits to him her true feelings. Apparently, he feels the same way, for he asks to court her. Just five months later, he asks Alonso for Valeria's hand in marriage. Alonso and Sabina are reluctant to hand their daughter away so soon, but in reality, they had both been predicting this since before the couple even began seeing each other. Alonso says yes, and Valeria is whisked away into a new home with her new husband.
A tournament takes place in town, and normally, Valeria would be the one to compete for their family. However, due to her lame foot, the family sends in Alonso as a replacement. Alonso fails terribly, much to the family's amusement.
Manuel and Octavia's chickens have three eggs that hatch, and they decide to give each son a chick. The boys name their roosters Ned, Ted, and Ed, and take them everywhere.

Year 19: Another tournament means another loss for Alonso. Secretly upset by his losses, he starts to train in what little free time he has.
Elena gets a job as a cook for a restaurant in town. While working there, she meets a man named Leon traveling through. She falls in love with him and is soon pregnant with his child. Though he doesn't love her as much as she does him, Leon marries her to prevent a scandal. They move into cottage near the edge of town and start raising their son Nicolas together.
Although not planning on having children at such a young age, Valeria and Esteban find themselves expecting and a few months later they welcome their first child, a daughter named Silvia. Esteban helps Valeria through the difficult birth. The young couple adores their new daughter and her birth strengthens their roles in the secret society, as neither wants to live in a world in which their daughter could be persecuted.
Mateo loves farming and helps his parents out in the fields everyday.

She doesn't believe she can fight him off, so she sneaks out a window with Nicolas and runs to get a neighbor. They come back in time to apprehend the thief, and thankfully everything is put back to its rightful place.
Just 18 months after Silvia's birth, Valeria, who once pictured herself becoming an old maid, gives birth again, this time to a son. She and Esteban could not be more happy with their life and little baby Gabriel is the icing on the cake for their family.
Manuel and Octavia adopt her 12 year old niece, Blanca, after her parents and siblings succumb to the terrible epidemic. Blanca is a shy girl who enjoys studying animals. Seb starts spending all of his time playing in the garden.
