[Opinions] Re: Lydia
Lydia is beautiful. It is timeless, and I can imagine it on many different types of women. The associations are a mixed bag. I like that the Lydia in the Bible was a successful business woman and church founder. Lydia Bennet is the only black mark on the name. In the USA, Lydia Maria Francis Child penned "Over the River and Through the Wood," but more importantly was an abolitionist, women's rights activist, Native American rights activist, and opponent of American expansionism. Go Lydia Child! According to Wikipedia, a Lydia was the first woman to get an engineering degree at MIT or anywhere else really, so it is a name with all kinds of bearers. Since the meaning of Lydia isn't super exciting, I would go for a middle name with a little pizzazz.
Lydia Andraste - I would consider using this.
Lydia Swanhild
Lydia Remei
Lydia Thamina
Lydia Yrsa
Lydia Maris
Lydia Ismene
Lydia Everild
Lydia Esperance
Lydia Adamanthea - maybe a bit over the top
