This is actually the name of a Looney Tunes character! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gossamer_(Looney_Tunes). I guess for that reason I see it as sort of....masculine....?

Gossamer wings is what comes to mind. It sounds like a fairy in a children's book, but it seems rather flimsy.
