[Opinions] Sarah
How boring is Sarah to you?I never paid much attention to it, precisely for the reason that I know so many women named Sarah. But it just occured to me that it would be quite pretty if it weren't so overused. What do you think of Sarah? And do you prefer Rachel or Sarah (the most common Biblical girls names women my age).Thanks.

My name is Sara, which, despite being the less common here in the U.S. is by far the more common worldwide. I'm obviously biased towards Sara over Sarah, but I think it's a nice enough name. Just wish there weren't so many in my age range.

Well it’s my name and growing up I did find it a bit boring, because there was always other Sarahs around. Then I realised it’s a really classic name and apparently suits me, so I’m cool with it. Probably one of the reasons I wanted to give my kids more unusual names :)

Very, very boring. It is dull and lacks personality.I prefer Rachel. Better nicknames and better sounds overall.

I like it. I never used to think about it because it was so common but I actually like the sound and think it sounds approachable-- same with Rachel. Right now I prefer Sarah.

I don't find Sarah boring, I guess because I think it is so beautiful. Rachel has such a harsh sound to it that it's unpleasant.

Only slightly. I enjoy Sarah, find it pretty, and prefer it to Rachel.

I much prefer Rachel. In fact, I prefer most names to Sarah, which bores me into a stupor. I always notice it, because I was almost named Sarah myself, after my paternal grandmother, who died before I was born. However, (a) my mother didn't much like her and (b) she had had two daughters herself and didn't use Sarah for either of them, fn or mn, so she presumably wasn't greatly impressed by it either.

It’s boring, but I still do like it. It’s definitely bearable to me, much less annoying than Sam or Beth. I prefer Sarah to Rachel.

It's boring ... not top 5 most boring, but maybe top ten.
I like Sarah fine. It is very pretty. A little better than Rachel. I find Rachel and Sarah about equally boring.

SO boringIt's one of my least favorite names -- dreadfully diluted by overuse into nothing more than a pair of sounds.Rachel has so much more verve to me.

Boring enough not to want to use it, especially in an anglophone country. I agree it’s a beautiful name otherwise, and nicer than Rachel.

I feel the same way. I think it would probably strike me as beautiful if it hadn't been so grossly overused.I prefer Sarah to Rachel. I don't like Rachel at all. I've known so many Sarahs with siblings Rachel, Hannah, Rebecca, and Matthew. A lot of Leahs and Michaels too.

Me too! Also several sibsets of these: Sarah + Laura, Sarah + Emma, Sarah + Nathan. For some odd reason I always found Sarah + Emma odd. Even though they are both popular classics they don't go at all together in my opinion.

Boringness of Sarah: 7/10
Boringness of Sara: 4/10
(1 being the least, 10 the most boring)There were only two Sarah's in my entire graduating class of 175 kids. Sarah. Bad association with Rachel.

Pretty boring. At one time, I'd have considered it an old lady name. Then it became so overused that it went completely the other direction. I don't think I've ever stopped to just appreciate it without that baggage. But it actually is a pretty name. If I were to use it, I think I'd do so as part of a double name, just to jazz it up a bit. Something like Sarah Beth maybe. I don't have a huge preference between Rachel or Sarah.

Love it, prefer it over Rachel

I think it’s really pretty, and not boring. Boring to me is Ava, Mia, Isla, Olivia etc. Sarah was overused in the past but I think it would be quite refreshing now.

To me Sarah is really pretty. Although it is very popular it is still a great name! I for sure prefer Sarah to Rachel.

Sarah is pretty boring, but I can appreciate that it's a nice name. Its popularity makes sense. I really like it as a middle name.I am not really into Rachel either, but I guess I prefer it, because it is slightly more unusual, and it seems smart and bitchy (which are qualities I apparently admire in female names). I do enjoy the "chl" part of Rachel, it's quite satisfying.

Sarah is was too sweet for me, idk, it isn't ugly though. Even if it weren't common, it would lack anything really special which is fine. It could suit anyone though. I think Sadie is cute. I like Rachel more I guess? More flavor.
