[Opinions] Annabel
What do you think of Annabel? Is it too cutesy or childish? Can you picture Dr. Annabel Smith or President Annabel Smith? Do you think Annabelle would age better? I don't like that spelling much, but I think it might age better (which is a little ironic, since it also makes it frillier). What do you think of these Annabel combos? Any other brilliant ideas?Annabel Charlotte
Annabel Caroline
Annabel Naomi
Annabel Sophia
Annabel Juliet
Annabel Julia
Annabel Clara (too cowish?)
Annabel ClaireThank you!

I think it's gorgeous and not too frilly at all (Annabella might be a bit much, though). I can definitely picture a professional Annabel. My fave combos are Annabel Charlotte and Annabel Sophia.

I adore Annabel. It's gorgeous and timeless and offers plenty of nice nicknames if Annabel just doesn't seem to age well enough for you.
Personally, I think it would age very well. It's very sweet, yes, but it also sounds sophisticated since it's a classic and very fun. I think it would age better than Annabelle would because it lacks the ultra-feminine 'elle' ending. Annabel is definately my favorite spelling. I love your combos, especially
Annabel Charlotte
Annabel Caroline
Annabel Sophia
Annabel Juliet
Annabel Julia- My favorite.
Annabel Clara- No, I don't think of cows :-)
Annabel ClaireI also love:
Annabel Kathleen
Annabel Sylvia
Annabel Victoria
Annabel Katherine
Annabel Faye
Annabel Robin
Annabel Christine
Annabel Rae
Annabel JoyI'm sure some of those aren't your style, and they don't all fit in with your combos, but they're on my list as such because they're all family names for me.Cheers!Love is the lord of the house within him and rules all the concerns of his soul- Plato

Annabel Sylvia
Annabel Victoria (Why didn't I think of this? So gorgeous!)
Annabel Katherine
Annabel Christine
Annabel Joy (oooh, nice!)

I think Annabel is more of a youthful name not a mature name although i like it much better than Isabel"GoTheSaints"

I definitely think Annabel would age well. I actually like both spellings, Annabel and Annabelle, equally. Also, it's great this name has two fantastic nicknames Anna or Belle. I think I like Annabel Claire best because I think Annabel sounds better with a shorter middle name. Also, Annabel Charlotte is nice. I also like Annabel Violet or Annabel Phoebe.
I don't know if you have the baby name wizard book but it says: that Annabelle is decorative but modest. The overwhelming impression is of sweetness. The name has come back from a long period of disuse and is on its way to widespread popularity. For spellings, women seem to prefer Annabel, men Annabelle. Annabel is chic, Annabelle is girly, and Annabella trails flowers in its wake.Despite everything, I believe that people are really good at heart. - Anne Frank

I really like Annabel & Annabelle (I think I prefer this spelling since I love the nn Belle) and lately I've been thinking about it as a nice, less popular alternative to Isabelle / Isabella.I think it ages quite well & I love the nns Annie, Anna, & Belle for a little girl.ETA: Annabel Clara is definitely to cowish, but I love Annabel Charlotte.

I like the name, it's pretty. I don't find it too cutesy or childish at all. I do prefer the spelling Annabelle though, it just looks more complete.Annabel Charlotte - I like it, but it's very long.
Annabel Caroline - It's pretty.
Annabel Naomi - I like it, the flow is good.
Annabel Sophia - Really nice, but I'd prefer Annabel Sophie.
Annabel Juliet - Nice.
Annabel Julia - Nice.
Annabel Clara - It does seem to cowish to me, sorry! :)
Annabel Claire - Nice.I think my fave is Annabel Sophia.

I like the name Annabel/Annabelle. I prefer the spelling Annabel, but I like also like Annabelle because the name Belle is in it. Belle is a very beautiful name.I think the name would age nicely. It's not the best 'aging' name but it would be okay, imo.I like the combos Annabel Charlotte, Annabel Sophia, Annabel Julia, and Annabel Claire.

Annabel is a pretty name and I like this spelling best. It does sound a little childish to me, but I think it will age fine.Annabel Sophia and Annabel Juliet are my favourites, both are beautiful. :)

Thanks!Funny, since Isabel sounds so much alike and I (and I assume you do to) think that Isabel will age beautifully. One of my favorites was Annabel Sophia too.

I guess it's because I've always known mature Isabel's and only 2 young Annabel's (who were both very spoiled), but that's just me, so don't take it into account. Annabel Sophia is gorgeous!:)

HmmI understand that, I know several adult Lilians and only young Lilys, so I don't know how well just Lily will age (just a random example here). Now I have to decide whether I prefer Annabel Sofia or Annabel Sophia. I think Annabel Sofia looks nicer. What do you think?Oh, and congrats again on getting pregnant! :)

Thanks Julia. :)I'm a huge fan of the Sofia spelling, so Annabel Sofia definitely GMV! Both look beautiful but I agree with you, I prefer the look of Annabel Sofia. ;)

You're welcome!Yes, I think I'd go with Annabel Sofia. Going off to add that (along with Anna Sofia and Anna Sophia) to my favorites list!

I love Annabel, this spelling only. Annabelle looks crowded and overdone. I think it ages fine, and is a great alternative to the mega-hit Isabel(le). The combos are all nice. I like the Charlotte and Julia ones most.

Thanks!I really don't like Annabelle either. It is a nice alternative to Isabel, which is gorgeous as well, but popular.I loved Annabel Charlotte and Annabel Julia too.

I love Annabelle with the -le but Annabel is also nice, it just seems incomplete to me. Because Annabel is considered frilly I would pair it with a less frilly name such as:
Annabel Ruth
Annabel Isolde
Annabel Faye
Annabel Paige
Annabel Wren
also because of the many syllables of Annabel I like to stick with one o two syllable middle names, just because I think it sounds best. "And I believe, that angels breathe, and hat love will live on and never leave" -Josh Groban

Thanks!I see what you mean about a less frilly, shorter middle name. I LOVE Annabel Ruth, and like Annabel Isolde and Annabel Wren as well.

Nice! My cousin's name is Annabella. Annabella Sofia.

Thanks!Ooooh, Annabella Sofia is stunning!

Annabel!! I love that name!! Though, I prefer the spelling of annabelle, as I feel the name looks more graceful and flowy with the le at the end. The name has never been wildly popular, so I think that's why people have a hard time picturing an adult annabelle. I don't find it difficult, but if I child felt they outgrew it they could always go by Anne which is ageless yet mature.
Combos I like/love:
Annabelle Charlotte
Annabelle Sophia
Annabelle Juliet
Annabelle Julia
Annabelle Claire
(We apparently have very similar taste :D)

Thanks! You have a point about the popularity thing. I hadn't thought of that. And Anne / Anna is a great nickname if the child wants one.You must have very nice taste, then. ;)
