I love all the "Ed-" currently. If forced to choose, based on my surname alone, I think I'd use Edward. My surname ends in N and has two syllables. So Edwin and Edmund sound slightly rhymey with it. But I don't like the actual names any less. Edgar might be another variant I'd consider. I'm not the biggest fan of nicknames in general. But I think I'd be most inclined to use Ned. Ted would be a close second. Ed just seems so expected.
