[Opinions] Sapphira
Replies
Sounds modern and overtly elegant. I mean, its a perfectly fine name but I personally wouldn’t use it.
I was posting in the polls about it just the other day because I was thinking about it too lol. I very much like it and think it sounds very strong in tone. I prefer Sapphira over Safira but with the same pronunciation of sa-Fear-ah over sa-fy-rah. like the dragon in Eragon.

Sapphira is very pretty. I actually like Sapphire even more, but a lot of people think gemstone names are "trashy," so that's something to consider.
The only famous bearer I can think of, though, is the Biblical character struck down by God for lying. :-(

I like it. Safira and Sapphira are both good, but I think Sapphira is more obviously "sapphire" and a little more... ostentatious, I guess? It also reminds me of dragons while Safira doesn't. I don't think either ones sounds modern or trendy at all, it sounds fantasy-ish to me. Sophia sounds more modern/trendy because of how common it is on modern people (even though it's also old).
I love Sapphira! I wouldn’t say it’s trendy, because it’s not popular, but it does have a modern feel to it. Honestly I’m a bit gobsmacked that it never caught on.
It just makes me think of the Opel Zafira car, unfortunately, as it’s a pretty name. I prefer Sapphire, which is a GP for me.

I don’t think it sounds like Sophia because Sapphira’s pronunciation is sa-FIE-ruh. Safira [sa-FEE-ruh] on the other hand does sound like Sophia.
I like both Sapphira and Safira, but prefer Sapphire to both.
Sapphira doesn’t feel trendy to me. Modern...perhaps? But not really if I’m honest. It’s a pretty, old name that has a “glam” feel to it. It reminds me of Estelle | Stella in that way.

I'm pretty sure in Hebrew Sapphira is sa-FEE-ra as well. I dislike sa-FIE-ra.
