I love it as a middle name. I wouldn't use it as a first name, but I'd like to see it. I assume it would get the nickname Guin.

I met a teenage Guinevere in the early 00s and remember thinking it was awkward.
Imagine calling one of your peers Bedivere - it felt a little like that.
It could have been partly because my mom's mare when I was growing up was named Guinevere. I'm fond of it for that reason, but I do associate it with horses.
Anyway, the sounds are warm and striking, and I like it.

A beautiful, understated name. Would love to meet one in the wild. It would make an interesting middle name too.

I love it as a GP. It would also make a really cool middle name but I don't know that I'd have the guts to use it. I think it looks and sounds quite beautiful.

I love Guinevere, and think it's one of few Arthurian names (besides Arthur himself) that's usable outside of the myths - it's easy to get the nickname Guin / Gwynn out of it. Or even Vera!

Funny, I have two cousins named Emrys and Gareth. Gareth was very common in the UK in the 80s and 90s. Tristan and Elaine also are well used names.

I keep forgetting Elaine is an Arthurian name, that one is also easy to fit into everyday life.
I suppose I should've also specified in my initial reply that I'm from the U.S., so I'm speaking of naming norms there. Gareth and Tristan both feel quite British to me. Emrys was a delight to see, though I doubt it's common outside of Wales...?

I'm from the US and I've met enough Tristans that it's boring to me now (I still like it but it doesn't feel as romantic as it used to before I met any IRL). Gareth... it does feel British but I wouldn't be surprised to see it here either.

It's not really common at all but Emrys doesn't have any trouble with it. His full name is Emrys Lee Daniel, he was given two common middle names just in case he decided he wanted a more common name to go by as he aged. He hasn't opted to go by ether of them as of yet.

I really like this name, it's elegant and romantic. I'd be so happy to meet a Guinevere. I love the meaning and I love how I automatically imagine a Pre-Raphaelite painting when I see this name.

I feel exactly the same about both Guinevere and Genevieve. Both are lovely. But they seem slightly over the top or maybe a little cumbersome. I'm not sure how it would feel to use those names in full repeatedly every day. I think both would inevitably get reduced to a nickname and I don't love any of those.

Genevieve still has some dog vibes for me after reading/watching Madeleine as a kid. But I know someone with a baby named Genevieve. I assume she'll end up Jenny at some point..
