There was some slight moving and shaking over the last month. On my masculine list, Gavin and Julian left in favor of Adam (which I don't believe has ever been in my Top 10 before) and... Jonathan. I used to think I shouldn't have Jonathan & Nathaniel together in my Top 10, since they both have the "Nathan" root and sort of mean the same thing. But now I figure, why the heck not? Especially since I love both of them! On my masculine list, I got rid of Claire's previous middle (Evangeline) and folded Vivienne (Vivian) and Iris into that combo, freeing up a spot. Lydia took it, which hasn't been in my Top 10 in years. And then I switched out Juliana (which had a good run) with my old favorite Juliet. (And then I pilfered the old middle, Daphne, for Ursula.)
Now... for the ten-year comparison! In March of 2021, these were my Top 10 combos:
Adrian Lennox
Cameron Delmar
Declan Rhys
Finn Thomas
Lochlann Carbrey
Mark Emmanuel
Owen Malachi
Richard Ambrose
Rylan Shaw
Westley Alden Leith
&
Aurelia Celeste
Cecily Willow
Elspeth Ottilia
Emberine Lucilla
Guinevere Lianna
Julia Marigold
Linnaea Florence
Marian Rosabel
Pandora Esperance
Xanthia Meadow
Well, there's Carbrey again. No idea what I used to see in Carbrey, sounds like carburetors. And "Westley Leith" in the same combo is making my eye twitch - Leith is derived from the same Old English element as the "ley" in Westley, which means "meadow." It's etymologically redundant, why did I do that?! Finn Thomas is also really on-the-nose for a Mark Twain reference (only Finn Sawyer would be more obvious).
I remember my brief fascination with Emberine, but it's gone now (fortunately). Aurelia Celeste and Cecily Willow are familiar combos, they would return again and again to my Top 10. Elspeth Ottilia, Linnaea Florence, and Pandora Esperance were nice surprises.
