I rather like it, too. Definitely more so than Everly. It's not a traditional name for either gender. So I'm equally fine with it on both boys and girls.

I can see the appeal, there is something romantic about Ever. I guess because it evokes the end of a fairy tale, the "happily ever after" part. It has potential but it's too brief to hold my attention for long. Maybe as a double name?
