[Opinions] Very abrasive (m)
in reply to a message by Orla.
I have the opposite problem with Courtney than I do with Monica (mentioned in previous thread) and Jasmine: just about every Courtney / Kourtney / etc. who I've met has actually been a nice person, but the name itself is... mean. It's the "court" part. That itself is reminiscent of courtrooms, which is one of the last places I would like to be (as much as I envy lawyers and judges their salaries, I don't actually envy their jobs). Also, etymologically the "court" part is connected to something being "curt," or short. Originally they meant physically ("short nose"), but it's also reminiscent of a curt, brusque, even abrasive demeanor.***Please rate my personal name lists:www.behindthename.com/pnl/69381
