It's solid and matronly, 8/10.

Demeter is lovely. I quite like that it's a bit ungainly (because of that first syllable), and I absolutely love that "mother" appears so prominently in the name.

I think it's pretty. It's robust and sturdy, but full of grace at the same time.

I really like Demeter it is strong, dependable, mythological, and unusual without being unknown. The earth power and plant associations are neat. I prefer Demetri and Demetria since they seem more approachable, and I would rather have a name that was nod to a goddess rather than actually bearing the name of a goddess. I prefer Zeno over Zeus for the same reason.

I don’t find it attractive, it sounds clunky/awkward. It’s too down to earth if that even makes sense. Too plain, too hard, too rigid. There is no whimsy, no spice, no intrigue. I might slightly prefer Demetria. But both of them remind me of endometrial/endometriosis/endometrium.

It's not bad, but I strongly prefer Demetria.

The older I get the more I like Demeter. I used to think it was incredibly ugly, because I wanted all goddesses to have airy-fairy names. But Demeter is such a calm, collected, solid name that I didn't appreciate its beauty until I grew up a bit. I love the way it reminds me a gently undulating golden field, the way my eyes travel over the letters. It does have such a lovely burnished tone to it, like gold in dying firelight. It's the colour of the gloaming. I don't even mind that there are two different pronunciations for it; I like both.
