Wow, I'm right there with you.Fay is gorgeous. I love that it's a word (and an unusual, old-fashioned one at that). The sound is lovely. Not enough names end with a strong A sound (I'm also super fond of Ray).I remember the first time I saw Flora on a little girl. I fell in love with it immediately. But now it seems a bit weak, a bit flim-flam, and it's overwhelmed by the "floor" element.Nigella is curious. I'm inclined to distrust it because it's celebrity-associated (when I associate names with celebrities they seem to get old the minute the celebrity's fame dies down). I can't decide whether I like it's overwhelming Britishness. It's kind of charming though. I think it would make a good middle name, for now. The flow of Fay Nigella is a bit off, but I think that combo's pretty gorgeous.

I like Fay, but I prefer it spelled Faye (just looks more complete imo). I don't love it, but it's nice. Seems better suited as a mn, but would be refreshing to see as a fn, too. I LOVE Flora. I also love Nora, which I would probably use one day, so Flora's out. :( Also, I'm a nurse, so flora makes me think of bacteria, etc., so not such a good association. :b Nigella makes me think of the British tv chef. I like it.

I like Flora and I think Nigella could grow on me, but I've always hated Fay. It sounds so masculine to me.
