Hilary Duff and her husband, Matthew Bair (professionally known as Matthew Koma) welcomed their second child, her third, a daughter named Mae James. She joins brother, Luca Cruz, 9 and sister, Banks Violet, 2.
I think Mae James is simple and stunning. Luca Cruz and Violet are solid names, but I don't love Banks. Overall, imo, the sibset is quite nice.

The F* did Banks get in there?
Luca and Mae are lovely names. Banks is ugly as anything, I am sick of James on girls.

I don't think I even knew she was expecting. I kind of like Mae, but prefer May. I am so completely over James for a girl. And never liked it to begin with. Banks is straight up awful.

The names of their kids are such an odd mixture of styles.
Imagine being named Banks as a sister to Mae and Luca. Even the brother's name sounds much softer than hers. Banks is probably one of the ugliest names I have even encountered, it would be awful on a boy and on a girl it's worse.
Luca is okay but boring and Cruz is celebrity trendy and overly religious sounding. Violet is nice but looks ridiculous next to Banks.
Mae is gorgeous but I prefer Mei and May. James is hideous on a girl but handsome on a boy. I hate how it has become a trend to use it for girls and I hate how it looks next to Mae, it destroys the whole combo. Sorry for the rant.

Reminds me of this couple (was it Ryan Gosling?) who had kids with terribly mismatched names, I think it was James (girl) and Ines or something.

I agree with you on Banks. I don't understand the appeal.
I will admit that I do like James for a girl, but for me, it's strictly as a GP and only in the MN position.
Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively have the three daughters with the mismatched names. James, Ines, and Betty. I don't love them together, but to each their own.
